Pizz Buin is an art colective composed by Rosa Baptista, Irene Loureiro, Vanda Madureira and Sara Santos, in 2005, at Caldas da Rainha, during the hangover of the artistic production and the modernist theories, still fiery in the specific and institutional context of the Art School.
As a consequence of the new approaches and relevance given to the artistic institutional space, deliberately, this collective appears also within the arts system with the purpose of addressing it.
Pizz Buin is an open project to which is added a new definition every time the project is discussed: It is a situation.
The great Pizz Buin dynamic resides in the live experience (the now and here), in the communication/miscommunication/disinformation. Until this moment the group presented proposals that aim to opening the discussion, taking as an object-issue several artistic moments: centering the work of art, its experience/sacralization, the previous references to the art object, the history/actuality, the vernissage issue, the exhibitions. The many acting methods (manipulation, appropriation, taking out of context, cutups) will also influence the construction and paths of the proposal, whose sense is found when presented at the art reception places.
The ‘Pizz Buinian’ actions assume an essentially parodist and cynical character, translating into the re-placing of issues inherent to the art world.

Pizz Buin é um colectivo artístico formado por Rosa Baptista, Irene Loureiro, Vanda Madureira e Sara Santos, em 2005, nas Caldas da Rainha, na ressaca da produção artística e das teorias modernistas, ainda acesas no contexto especifico e institucional da escola de arte.
Em consequência das novas abordagens e relevância dadas ao espaço artístico institucional, intencionalmente, este colectivo surge também inserido no sistema das artes com o propósito de a ele se dirigir.
Pizz Buin é um projecto aberto, ao qual é acrescentada uma nova definição sempre que o mesmo é discutido: é uma situação.
A grande dinâmica Pizz Buin reside no vivo, na comunicação/descomunicação. Até ao momento o grupo apresentou propostas que visam abrir a discussão, tomando como objecto-problema vários momentos do foro artético: enquadramento da obra de arte, a sua vivência/sacralização, as referências anteriores ao objecto de arte, a história/actualidade, a situação vernissage, as exposições,… Os vários métodos de actuação (manipulação, apropriação, descontextualização, cutup…) vão também influenciar a construção e percursos da proposta, cujo sentido se encontra quando apresentados nos lugares de recepção de arte.
As ações Pizz Buinianas assumem um carácter paródico e essencialmente cénico, traduzindo-se na recolocação de questões inerentes ao mundo da arte.
